Solo/Ensemble Performances

March 6, 2010
Elise had her first chance to perform her first solo with an accompanist. For her age and division she scored a -1 which is an equivalent to an A-! She is doing really well for having only played 6 months.
Here she is
This was Samantha's second performance at this event and also scored a -1 for her performance. This is an important event as those who score best get to go on to State. Unfortunately she didn't make it this year, but she is close. She is only a freshman so she has 3 more years to polish her skills and try and get into state. She did a great job though as you will see here

So proud of the girls and how well they are doing!

So hard to believe that Elise has only been playing for six months and so hard to believe that Samantha is only 14 and is so accomplished as a "flutist." Both wonderful musicians. Will love to watch them both as they continue to progress throughout the years.

Fabulous performances by both! I was aware of Samantha's flute talents, but Elise's great presentation was a bit of a pleasant surprise! Good going to both of you.

Great stuff girls. Elise, you sound wonderful! What leaps and bounds you've made. Samantha... that was great, and I can't believe how long it was!! Holy Smoke! I couldn't blow anything for nearly 6 minutes, let lone make it sound good. :-)
